Aloha is one of the most famous Hawaiian words, and while it is commonly used as a greeting for “hello” and “goodbye,” its deepest meaning is love, compassion, sympathy, and mercy. It is a foundational philosophy of Hawaiian culture that dictates how people relate to one another and the world around them.
