“Discovery in Action Showcase”

The 2026Discovery in Action Showcase” was held at the Tangeman University Center’s Great Hall on March 31st. Organized to showcase student research projects, innovative teaching tools, and real-world applications within the many disciplines of the College of Arts and Sciences, the event brought together hundreds of attendees and guests over the 2-hour event.

To quote James Mack, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences:

“Discovery in Action reflects what makes Arts and Sciences unique, bringing together different ways of thinking to tackle complex questions and create meaningful impact.”

I’m happy to share that our “Forest Calls 2.0” project won “Best Project” in the ‘Graduate’ category. This honor will most certainly help spread the word about our October event and create new partnerships and collaborations within UC.

Thank you to everyone: I couldn’t be happier!

For more information about the showcase itself, you can go to the UC News website.

Here are a few images, taken from the filming we did at the March 31st event:

As “Forest Calls” continues to gain momentum and move forward, we will continue to film “behind-the-scenes” moments like these – so that it can potentially be used in the larger documentary we’re planning to produce after our October event has taken place.

Again, thank you to everyone who came by to say hello on March 31st. And a very special THANK YOU to Nancy for being so instrumental at guiding this transmedia project.

– Ella
